Referral Update

So after we picked up our packet in the driving rain in Waltham, we stopped at a UPS Store to make copies and overnight the information to Dr. Laurie Miller at the Tufts-New England Medical Center International Adoption Clinic. Dr. Miller called us yesterday to go over the materials and answer our questions regarding Abera's health.

Abera is tiny-only 11 pounds. However his height is in the 25th percentile and his head circumference is in the 75th percentile so he has had good nutrition during a good portion of his early infancy. Based upon the limited medical information that Ethiopia provides, Dr. Miller could see no major health issues with Abera.

So you have probably noticed that I keep calling him Abera. We have decided to keep his first name. We like it and his birth parents gave it to him.

We will have the official acceptance paperwork signed today and cut the giant check and then he is ours! Hooray!
