Schedule of Events

We had our travel call today. There are 5 families traveling with us. In the call, the Ethiopia Program team goes over all of the basics of travel and gives us the schedule of events for the week.

Monday, July 31st in the late morning or early afternoon we should have our U.S. embassy appointment. We have to get a U.S. visa for Abera to come back to the U.S. Visas are issued later in the week.

Most likely on Friday we will participate in the coffee ceremony that is a typical Ethiopian ceremony and serves as a send off to the children who have been adopted. All of the nannies and other caretakers will be present and there may be some speeches, a blessing or a prayer from the orphanage, etc.

We still don't know when the visit to the birth relatives will happen, if at all. We may not know until we get to Addis whether we will go and when we can go.
